WHAT
Assisting in solutions design and installation, while tracking and controlling subcontractor’s performance, as well as handling post-installation technical support, operational actions, and customer’s requests fulfillment.
HOW
You will be responsible for:-
Assisting in the process of developing/ designing new Telecom Solutions for large facilities, such as Network Infrastructure installation, through transforming customer requirements into technical specification reflected in the solution design. 
Contributing in projects implementation, while providing management with required reports; in order to complete projects successfully and within set time frame.
Tracking and controlling subcontractor’s performance to ensure that all projects are being executed according to the set specifications and standards, and in compliance with the contractual agreements. 
Minimizing downtime and degradation related to Telecom Solutions; through monitoring statues, and subsequently identifying and resolving errors/ failures. 
Executing the Network Infrastructure corrective/ preventive maintenance plans related to solutions installed in large facilities to maintain the efficient performance of the network and avoid service degradation.
Supporting related procurement activities, through accurately identifying and acquiring required material and equipment within set time frames, quality standards and price ranges; to ensure optimal utilization of resources. 
Handling customer’s complaints and satisfying their needs after solution installation in professional and systematic manner. 
Carrying-out the documentation process of related special projects; in order to smoothen and accelerate future upgrade, maintenance, installation and all other operational activities. 
Proposing improvement on solutions provided to customer; utilizing latest technological trends and developments.
Monitoring and maintaining Network Security Systems within provided Telecom solutions, in order to protect customer’s information/ systems from any theft or fraud incidents, while reporting such incident to the management and taking proper actions to stop and prevent them accordingly. 
Performing other duties related to the job as assigned by the direct supervisor.
WHAT DO I NEED?
You will be required to have Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
You shall have 0-2 years of relevant experience.
Preferred certifications: CCNA, ITIL or equivalent professional certificate.

UNRWA Lebanon Field Office (LFO) regularly offers up the chances for unpaid Internship/Volunteer, for national and international students, to acquire work experience within their field of studies and to:
Put into practice their field of study
Gain work experience in an international environment
Contribute to one of the largest and longest running humanitarian projects of our era

The UNRWA, Lebanon Field Office, is looking for potential Interns/Volunteers in various disciplines related to its activities. Depending on qualifications and availability, candidates may be selected for an Internship/Volunteer ship that relates either to the organization’s strategic activities or to administrative or technical functions. An Internship/Volunteering will give the successful candidates the opportunity to work in one of the departments of a multi-cultural international organization:

TYPICAL TASKS
Typical tasks performed by local/international interns are amongst others
· Conducting research and data analysis;
· Writing documents and reports;
· Monitoring and evaluation activities;
· Cataloguing information;
· Assisting in organizational issues and organizing events events;
· Data and Document management;
· Support tasks for the department relating to the studies and expertise of the student; and
· Administrative support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must – at a minimum – have completed secondary level education. Candidates with completed university degree are preferred;
Interns/Volunteers may be either nationals of the relevant duty station, a foreign national residing at the duty station, or a foreign national who travels (on his/her own expenses) to the duty station to take up the placement. The Agency reserves all rights not to accept a volunteer/intern without giving reason!

Further on successful candidates will:
Be proficient in English and Arabic (or in English and another official UN language);
Be computer literate in standard software applications;
Demonstrate a keen interest in the work of UN in general and of UNRWA in particular;
Demonstrate the ability to successfully interact with different cultural backgrounds/beliefs;
Be at least 18 years of age;
Be covered by a valid accident and health insurance for the specific duty station;

The specific qualifications required for every Internship/Volunteer depend on the requirement of tasks, projects and department of placement
CONDITIONS OF SERVICE
Remuneration: Interns/Volunteers are not remunerated by the Agency.
Duration: The duration of an Internship/Volunteer can vary from a minimum of 2 months to a maximum of 11 months, mainly depending on the requirements of the placement and the availability of the student.
Interns/volunteers are complementary personnel with non-staff status.
Interns/Volunteers may not be sought or accepted as substitutes for staff to be recruited against authorized posts.
Internship/Volunteer may not represent UNRWA in any official capacity.
Interns/volunteers are expected to adhere to the same standards of conduct that apply to Agency staff, as well as the Code of ethics for UNRWA staff
A placement may be terminated by either party at any time by giving five days written notice.

Third-party claims: UNRWA is not responsible for any claims by any parties where the loss of or damage to their property, death or personal injury was caused by the actions or omission of action by them during their Internship/Volunteer period.
Expenses: The Agency will not be responsible for costs of travel, accommodation, or any other costs related to the placement. All costs connected with an interns/volunteers participation in a program must be borne by the student, including (financing for subsistence, arrangements for travel (including to and from the office), visas, accommodation, etc.
Insurance: As part of acceptance of his/her Agreement, an intern/volunteer will be required to certify that he/she is medically fit for the placement. Participants must prove to the satisfaction of the Agency that they have adequate medical and accident insurance coverage (covering the Area/station they will work at) prior to commencing the placement.
Security: Interns/volunteers are not included in the security arrangements that apply to staff. The Agency reserves the right to end intern/volunteer placements and request the participant to leave the duty station.
Foreign nationals must register with their embassy/consulate at the duty station.

Visa: Interns/volunteers will be solely responsible to secure visas and travel permits related to the placement.
Subsequent Employment: The purpose of the INTERNSHIP/VOLUNTEER Program is not to lead to further employment with UNRWA but to complement an intern’s studies. Therefore, there should be no expectation of employment at the end of an Internship/Volunteer. Interns/Volunteers are eligible to compete as external candidates for UNRWA staff vacancies in accordance with normal selection procedures.
